Matti's paintings are in the representational or realist manner and portray a calm, peaceful and serene feeling of his subject matter. He is schooled in the Naturalist technique by the exceptional painter and instructor Tom Ouellette of Boston.

He primarily paints landscapes and still lifes with a strong interest in seascapes and culinary subjects. All of his paintings are in oil on canvas or linen, stretched or applied to panels.
